The commercial M-4 rifle’s features are geared toward
civilian and law enforcement use. The civilian and law enforcement
community are not governed by the same rules as Military Personnel.
Military rifles are required to be Mil-Spec. This requirement can be
limiting when it comes to configuration and accessories. The main
differences between the Commercial and Military Versions of the
Sabertooth M-4 are the fore end (a free floated rail system on the
Commercial, but mil-spec dual shielded handguards on the Military, the
single point sling adapter (milspec swivels are standard on the
Military, single point on the Commercial), and the overtravel adjustment
screw (the mil-spec version does not have this feature).
